5. Krishnanagar Rajbari
Just 20 kilometers from Nabadwip, you’ll find the big and beautiful Krishnanagar Rajbari. This old palace shows how kings used to live in Bengal. It’s next to the Jalangi River and tells us a lot about the area’s past. If you like history, you can easily visit this place in one day from Nabadwip.
Raja Krishna Chandra Rai built this palace in the 1700s. He was a king who really liked art and culture, and he helped make Bengal’s culture very special. The palace is still standing today, reminding us of when he was in charge.
Now, when you visit Krishnanagar Rajbari, you can see both old and new things. Even though it’s very old, you can still see pretty carvings and big open spaces that make people say “wow”. The palace looks interesting because it mixes Bengali and European ways of building.
Jhulan Mela
Every year, there’s a big fair called Jhulan Mela at Krishnanagar Rajbari. This fair makes the whole palace area feel alive and happy. It’s a celebration about Radha and Krishna playing together.
